Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a GTA III era game developed by Rockstar North, so it references the storyline and characters of Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Storyline of GTA San Andreas
Five years ago, Carl “CJ” Johnson escaped the stress of life in his hometown of Los San Andreas. It’s the early ’90s and he has to go home. His mother was murdered, his family fell apart, and his childhood friends all went to disaster. When he returned to the neighborhood, several corrupt cops accused him of murdering a policeman. Carl is forced to embark on a journey across San Andreas to save his family and take control of the streets.
The game first explores Carl’s return to Los Santos, his attempts to keep his surviving family alive and together, and his efforts to restore the Grove Street family to the top of Los Santos gang circles. Act I Carl is trapped in Los Santos and banned by the evil C.R.A.S.H. Travel in and around the city. However, when Carl discovers a betrayal within his own gang, he is banished and forced to move around the towns of San Fierro and Las Venturas.
While staying away from Los Santos, Carr has developed investment opportunities and financial stability in both San Fierro and Las Venturas, from a grocery store to a casino stake to a massive bank robbery. When he was able to return to Los Santos, he was blinded by his success and initially couldn’t see his former hood. But it only takes the guidance of his family to wake him from his selfishness and ultimately make Grove Street king.
